At my appointment today I was told because of my pcos I was considered high risk so I will need to do the glucose test at my appointment next month and then it will be repeated again. I was really surprised about this because I have pcos for a long time but was not considered high risk with my last pregnancy and did not need two glucose tests.
I didn't know that the glucose test needed to be done twice if a pregnancy is considered high risk. Does anyone else with pcos need to do the glucose test twice?
On a side note, I did have an exciting moment today when my midwife surprised me by giving my a quick ultrasound so I could see the baby and he/she waved at us!!

I think I will call her and ask her about it. I was caught off guard and she seemed to just throw it in there at the end of the appointment that it wasn't until after that I started thinking it was weird... She didn't mention anything about my blood sugar being elevated but that will definitely be something I will ask her about. Thank you!
I'm high risk bc of multiple m/c, previous pre-term delivery, AMA and I had GD when I was pg with DS1. They gave me the glucose test at my 7 week appt!! I passed thankfully, but I think I have to take it 2 more times. Yuck.
I *think* that there is some relation between PCOS and higher risk of GD. I can't remember exactly where I heard that, but that may be why.
