round ligament pain?

This is not my first pregnancy, but my first twin pregnancy. I'm 17 wks and I've had the ligament pain off and on....no big deal. But, today I am having ssevere sharp pains when I twist my body around. For instance, I was driving and I turned to see traffic in the other lane. It's short lived, but VERY sharp and its also higher than usual...closer to my belly button and across there, which is just about where my uterus goes to. I thought round ligament pain was lower? And not so terrible? It's freaking me out! It makes me gasp out loud, which I usually don't do unless something really hurts.
TTC #3 (#1 for DH) since September 2011. DX: Unexplained infertility with possible cervical factor. May 2012 did clomid with IUI - BFN August 2012 IUI #2 w/ follistim/letrozole - BFN September 2012 IUI #3 w/ follistim/letrozole - BFN October 2012 IUI #4 w/ follistim/letrozole - BFN November/December 2012 IVF/ICSI #1 Retrieved 12 eggs, 8 fertilized. Transferred 1 beautiful embryo and 5 made it to freeze. Got my BFP! January 2013 u/s showed empty gestational sac. FET cycle April 2013.  Transferred 2 5 day embryos.  BFP!!!!!  2 heartbeats!!!!  EDD:  12/27/13

    I had the same thing happen to me around 19 or 20w. Im now almost 30w and still getting the pains. My ob just told me that even though this isnt my first pregnancy, its my third, since there are twins there is extra weight and pains and tweaks that will be felt. If it continues, I would definitely contact your doctor to put your mind at ease. Also, I started having some painful BH contractions around 16 or 18w. As long as your pain doesnt get worse or cause bleeding its probably just typical pregnancy pain. Im not a dr though. If youre really concerned, be sure to call. I always felt dumb calling if I was having issues because this isnt my first go round and at one point gave in and called because of horrible cramping and although I was fine, I was asked why I waited so long and told not to mess around with a twin pregnancy. Hope youre feeling better soon.

    You took the words right out of my mouth! I feel so dumb calling too because I feel like I've been there done that...it's also my 3rd pregnancy....but everything seems so different! I've always been a worrier too, so I also hate calling in case I'm over reacting. I'm almost positive this isn't BH, I'm guess it's just growing pains. It hasn't happened again, but I've been super careful about twisting or changing positions too fast. It's so crazy to me that I have all these aches, pains, etc...when I'm not even that far along! It seems like I should be in my 3rd trimester rather than my second with all these crazy symptoms! If it starts up again then I'll probably just break down and call.
