Charlotte is going to daycare starting in August (as opposed to having a sitter in our home, like this past year.) Our new sitter hasn't done CDs before, but is willing.
Do you have a separate stash identified as "daycare diapers"? This is what I am considering. We have one large wet bag but plan to buy another and rotate the two.
What is your strategy for getting your cloth diapers to daycare, home from daycare, washed, prepped, and returned? What accessories should I buy to make this easier or to leave at daycare?
Thank you!
Re: CD daycare moms - strategy?
We cd'd DS1, he was at daycare 4 days a week. I kind of had a daycare stash. I did only BG 3.0 and 4.0 pockets at daycare. They were pre-stuffed when I brought them in. I used a wetbag inside a garbage can with a lid. I had aprox 40 diapers, and always left some extra's there, just in care.
I did CD laundry every two days. It was all I knew, because we never used disposables at that time. I didn't think it was hard. When DS2 came around, and I had a slight nervous breakdown, CD's were the first thing to go. I just couldn't handle two kids, two in diapers, a newborn, etc.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
due to health laws we need a seperate bag for each dirty diaper, so i send in planetwise bags each day. I also have some small plastic bags that i keep there just in case they run out.
I use the same diapers for "home" and "daycare". Most of my stash is BumGenius 4.0, and those are the only kind I send to daycare to make it easy on them having them all be the same style.
I send them to daycare already stuffed and ready to go. I also send a Kanga Wetbag every day for the dirties. https://www.amazon.com/Kanga-Care-Wet-Bag-Amethyst/dp/B005555KXC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1374279978&sr=8-1&keywords=kanga+wetbag
We have about 30 diapers and do diaper wash every 2-3 days.
I'm not much help because I use a service. We use prefolds and covers. They put the dirties in a wetbag and I dump them in the pail in the evenings. The service picks up the dirties and drops off the clean ones once/week.
I keep extra snappis and covers at daycare along with disposables JIC.
I use a small wet bag that has a zippered compartment with a PUL lining for the dirty diapers and a zippered compartment for the clean ones. I send 5 clean diapers everyday and take home five dirty ones! They just go into my regular wet bag at home and I wash as normal. Easy peasy!
When i was working this is basically what we did. I also left a small pack of disposables in his size just in case he managed to ever go thru all 5 cloth. [this only happened like 2 times] my niece is 3 months younger so when the extra disposables got too small i would just send the extras to my brother for her so they didn't go to waste.
What brand is this bag?
