Dresser safety

Hi ladies

Any suggestions on how to keep DD out of the dresser pulling all her clothes out? I already have the dresser mounted to wall.

Short back story to why I need suggestions now..

My DD will be 1yr in 2 weeks and has become extremely mobile in every way. We are 2 weeks from settling on a house granted the terminate inspection goes well. We are expecting baby 2 December 16.

We are leaning towards transitioning her to a toddler bed closer to my due date. DD is not picky where she sleep as long as she gets in cuddle time.

If we do get her a toddler bed naps will be in her room with her dresser. How do I baby proof the dresser? Take all clothes out of bottom 2 drawers? I'm fine with that but DD will eventually share a room with the baby the closet isn't huge. So storage is a factor.

Sorry wasn't exactly short. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

    I would agree on keeping her in the crib

    For the dresser, either door latches or just remove it. I got tired of picking up a million times a day so I moved their clothes to our closet and we don't have a lot of room. It's just a matter of editing the amount

    They grow out of it. It's not really a safety issue, just an annoyance. That said, I don't think I'd move a 17 month old to a toddler bed right when they are getting a new sibling. Sounds like a disaster. Set up the nursery in the new house, let her stay in the crib. Keep the baby in your room in a pack n play or rock n play or whatever. She can help set up her big girl room when the new baby is 3 to 6 months old.


    All of this. Even if you don't want the baby in your room it's easy enough to set up a pack n play or bassinet in another room.

    Thanks for the suggestions. The only reason we're leaning towards putting DD in a toddler bed is because FI likes to pretty much agree with whatever his mom says and I'm tired of fighting with him.

    I'd be more concerned over the bolded instead of DD pulling clothes out of her dresser.

    You can tell him that he's in charge of all bed time and overnights then... see how he handles that when your 17 month old is getting up in the middle of the night.   

    I agree with the PP on working on this mom thing.  That's not a situation thats going to end well if it continues like that.

    Eh, it's not like she's causing any damage to herself, the dresser, or her clothes.  Let her pull them out, and you guys can put them back in as a game.

    I agree with others. Put your foot down, they are your kids. My DD will be 18 mos when DD2 is born and I'm buying another crib.
