A few weeks back following his 4 month (4.5 month in his case) vaccines LO went through about a week where he woke up every night at around 4-5. We'd feed him (I EP) and he'd go back to bed. The past two weeks he's been STTN like usual without any problems. But then starting Sunday night he's been waking up multiple times a night. I bring him into bed because that tends to calm him down, but now it doesn't work after that first wake up time. He'll wake up and I'll give him his bottle until he falls asleep after which I try to get some shut eye too since I have to wake up at 5:30 in order to be at work on time. Could this be sleep regression again? Anyone else go through something like this with their LOs? Any tips? I am honestly at a loss of what to do.
Re: Sleep regression question
It could also be a growth spurt or be related to development. Sometimes babies are more wakeful at night when they are about to hit a milestone. Maybe he is going to roll over better, sit up unassisted, or be able to pass toys back and forth between his hands soon.
At his age, it could also be teeth! If all it takes is a bottle and snuggles to get him back to sleep, I wouldn't worry too much. Babies do this, and as soon as you think they'll sleep long stretches forever, it changes again! Luckily, they do grow into children who are work to get out if bed every day, so this doesn't last.
First, LOVE the name Atticus.
Second, this will pass. My son would wake up in the middle of the night and want to party. I'd just lay in bed with him and let him babble and try to find the humor in the situation. On the weekends, I committed to taking a nap every time he took one. Since we cosleep, this often turned into three hour naps together! It was glorious and got me through the regression.
