Natural Birth

Did you give your midwife a gift?

Hello all! This will be my fifth delivery and we are planning a home-birth with a midwife. I was just wondering how many of you got her a special gift to thank her for attending your birth...and, if so, what the gift was. I think it would be nice to get her something, just not sure at this point what would be appropriate. Any ideas?

  • I didn't. I am not sure I will this time either. I love my midwife though! But we already paid her a lot haha.

  • I brought some flowers for her to our 6 week newborn checkup.
  • My MW went above and beyond during my L&D and was an incredible source of support through out. I brought her small box of truffles to my 6 week PP apt. to show my appreciation.
  • I gave my first MW cash toward HB supplies (what she requests if people ask) and I gave my second MW a gift certificate for a spa.  Yes, we paid them, but in the end they do not make the big bucks and, at least with both of mine, they went above and beyond anything that I could have anticipated.
