DS has been STTN for about 4 months. He used to nap twice at DC, go to sleep at 7:30 and wake up around 6:30. Life was good. Then right around his first birthday, he started getting up earlier and earlier. He has also been going down to 1 nap. It got progressively worse. For the past few days he has refused to go to bed. We tried a later bedtime but that didn?t work - he was so tired that he just sat there and laid his head on my lap and whined. Yesterday after putting him to bed and letting him cry for about 15 minutes, I went in to check on him, and he threw up violently. He has thrown up only twice in his whole entire life.
I?m still not sure if he was feeling unwell before he started to cry or whether the vomiting was related to the hysterical crying. Afer that I held him and rocked him while he cried and whimpered on and off until he finally passed out. He woke up again at 5 this morning and was super cranky because he is so tired.
He is not teething. I tried bringing him in bed with us but he likes sleeping alone and would never fall asleep in our bed. It?s not that I mind the early-morning wake-ups or the rocking him part at night, it?s just that he is so tired and cranky and I want to help him. Suggestions?
Re: Sorry, another sleep question!
This was exactly my thinking. My son started doing this lately and is starting to show signs of dropping a nap (even though he is still taking two naps a day most days) But I noticed he is exhausted when he gets home and crabby....so I upped his bed time from 7:30-8 to 7-7:30. That did the trick. If I wait too long and he pushes toward 8 he's a total wreck.
