Strollers for 3?

Ladies,

I'm doing some research on strollers and am not coming up with lots of luck just yet. When nuggets are born, my youngest will be around 18-19m. I'll need a good stroller that she can ride in, along with the nuggets. The standing board isn't something we'll be able to use for quite some time. Any of you have recs to share?

 TIA!

Re: Strollers for 3?

  • Valco twin tri mode with Joey seat. It is what we have for our triplets and it would be perfect for you.

  • I am considering the Joovy Big Caboose Stand on Triple Tandem with the Caboose Too toddler seat which if I am looking it the pics right, coverts the platform seat to a five pt harness seat. FYI It comes with 2 car seat adaptors.

My girls will be 2 yrs 4 months when the baby is born and I need something to wrangle them all in, since I am out by myself a lot.  I just need to convince DH that I need another stroller LOL

  • Update: oops! Nevermind on the Joovy for your arrangement. Just read that the back platform/3rd seat cannot be used if both carseats are installed in the front due to the seat having to recline on seat #2.

I would maybe test this in a store. On my single sit stand the front when reclined still leaves room on back seat for a child. It is less room but still doable.

I like the Valco twin joey seat but you cannot snap car seats in for when twins are small on this stroller. If that's important to you you might want to wait till your twins are out of buckets to buy this stroller

  • I have twins coming when my DS will be 1819 months but I don't want a triple stroller. I think it would be too big and heavy to use and I would probably hate it. I'm planning to get a double sidebyside stroller and baby wear DS when he doesn't want to walk or baby wear one of the newborns. When DS is old enough, I'll add a sitting attachment for him behind the stroller. I just think this setup is more manageable than a triple stroller

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

Take some time checking out the SBS carefully.  A lot of them don't fold up nice and tight, only in half, so they are still just as wide.  Also if you are going to be outside, they are great, but getting thru doorways is a nightmare.

Right now, we have the girls in a snap n go and ds walks or is in a seond stroller pushed by someone else.  I can easily throw the umbrella stoller under the snap n go if he's in a walking mood.  For when the twins are older we are hoping to find something less bulky than the SBS we got.  It's a really nice stroller, but it's so big it won't fit in the cargo area of my minivan (2002, smaller than in today's newer models).  We have to have a seat removed in order to fit it in, which is okay, since we always have a seat removed in order to comfortably load everyone up, but could be difficult if you don't like to remove a seat.

We're looking at the Joovy Lucy suggested.

  • Good food for thought. Thanks!
  • We are in the same situation! I am planning on getting the Valco twin with joey seat as a PP suggested. :) I spent a lot of time researching triple strollers and it sounded like most of them were too bulky for me. A lot of people mentioned that inline triple strollers have trouble fitting into cars once folded up, even minivans. And the side-by-side strollers wouldn't fit through most doors.

Plus I figure the Valco will be most handy once DS #1 outgrows strollers altogether--just remove the Joey seat. :)

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I'm not having much luck with a stroller that takes infant seats and has a space for my 1yo. However, based on everything I've read about the Valco, I'll likely purchase down the road.

    Thanks ladies.
