My maternity leave ends next week. Boo! We've asked our regular babysitter to come over all day on Monday to help me with the baby and help me prep for going back to work.
What should I have her do? Right now my list includes helping me make a couple of freezer meals, chopping veggies, trimming back my crazy hydrangea bush in the backyard, and washing some baby toys that I've neglected for weeks.
Can you think of anything else? I'm too OCD to have her do laundry or cleaning but she's really speedy so I know she'll knock these other things out in no time. I'm leaning toward more freezer meals.
Thanks!

Re: How to prep to return to work after ML?
This! Wish I could do it now...
PP, she has helped us with these types of things before and enjoys it! She knows she'll be doing this again on Mon.

I'd be pretty annoyed if I came over to watch the baby and I was told to trim bushes and prep food.
If it were me -I would get out of the house- get a hair cut, get a pedi, maybe buy a new outfit for work, etc. I would be doing things to get MYSELF mentailly ready to go back to work, not trimming the bushes. That is what the weekends are for.

If it were me, I would not add more chores for her to that list - but rather have her watch LO while you get some things done. What also helped me to prep to go back to work was also doing a couple of days of trial runs - getting up, ready, and out of the house at the time I would normally go to work. Everything takes longer when you have an infant in the house so it helped me to figure out what I needed to do in order to get out on time.
And I totally agree w/the PP's who wrote you should be going out for a haircut or mani/pedi.

Thanks for your feedback, everyone. She has helped us out with random things around the house before and actually said she enjoys it, so she was fine with everything I needed from her today. She and I took turns with the baby (I would feed him, she would play with him and put him down for nap) and took turns doing things around the house. We got a ton of things done, including making a few things to freeze for later and doing some laundry.
She's coming back to help again for a half day on Wednesday so I'm going to try to get a haircut then and maybe get my car washed or something. A pedi is a great idea but we have a nail place within walking distance of my office so I'll go during lunch one day or something.
