If I'm going into a store for a while, I will typically take DD out of her infant carrier carseat and put her in our mei tai carrier. But that means the infant seat stays in the car and gets RIDICULOUSLY hot. It's so hot I'm afraid it would burn her skin a little.
What have others done about this?!
Re: Help on dealing with SUPER hot carseat
I use a car seat sun shade, it works pretty well.

I park in the shade whenever possible, even if it means parking far. Then I start the car and either stand outside or sit in the car with the boys for a few.
That is the only pain about switching to convertibles at a young age.
You shouldn't put anything on your seat that comes between the baby and the seat that didn't come in the box with your car seat. They aren't crash tested or authorized by the manufacturer. No liners, no cute strap covers, nothing like that.
If it isn't enough, you can also toss some of those plastic things that people keep in the freezer to put in lunchboxes to keep them cold in the carseat under the towel or blanket while you are out...
