So my 2 year old got a hold of a tub of vaseline and got it all through her hair. I've washed it twice but it doesn't want to come out. Her skin still feels all greasy as well. Any ideas other than the soap and water I've already tried?
DS1 rubbed a tub of Aquaphor all over his body during "naptime" once (I didn't even know he could reach that drawer)! I just gave him several baths over the course of a couple days and eventually the world righted itself. The first bath definitely didn't do anything, though! I guess I'm recommending perseverance.
Although, the dish soap sounds like a good idea, too!
I just had to google this a few weeks ago when my two got it in their hair as well as on the carpet during "naptime" one day. Use a fine tooth comb to get as much out as possible first then you need something to dry it out before washing. We used corn meal but you can also use baking soda. Rub either in dry and leave it for about 10 minutes. Then rinse that out and then wash, either with Dawn or shampoo. You may have to repeat the process a few times and his hair will be nice and shiny for a few days.
Thanks ladies. I ended up using baby powder and then washing with Dawn. After two rounds we seem to have gotten most of it out. I did manage to get some pretty great pics of her before though so I can hopefully laugh about it in the future.
LOL! Glad you got it handled! I did this with some toys once when I was little. (I decided to "clean" them) God knows what all I used, but it was so bad my mom didn't bother trying to clean them. She got rid of them all. Guess I wasn't as bad as the toys

Oh man. I couldn't help but to LOL!
I'd try the Dawn, too.
