Clomid strengths

So today I started my first day of clomid... Everything I have read says that 99.99% of everyone starts out at 50 mg a day.... I read all my RX before I started it today... and realized my DR has me starting on 100mg a day... OH vey... doesnt this sound high? I am kinda worried I am going to have 12 follicles ready to explode! For my first time with everything... I would of thought we would of started at the 50 mg.. and see how it goes...

Any thoughts?

7/17/13-1st try with 100mg Clomid+Novarel+Prog.
7/25/13 Mid-cycle U/S- 4 Follicles! 17, 16,L 16,15 R
7/25/13 Trigger shot
8/6/13 Beta Blood Drawn... Big fat Neg. 
New RE:- 101 tests done during break cycle.. All look great! green light to hit the deck running!
9/18/13- Cd 1- FINALLY! 100 mg clomid CD3-7- 75iu Bravelle 7-10   
9/30/13 Follie count.. 3 on right. 2 on left-- trigger today
10/2/13- IUI #1
10/15/13 Beta #1- BFN.. :(

    Do you ovulate on your own? I was started on 50 and never increased since I was ovulating. It's certainly within the realm of reasonable to call your doctor and ask if you're concerned.
    Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.

    Did you have proper testing before you were prescribed Clomid?  Are you being monitored with ultrasounds?

    Me:36 DH:38 TTC#1 since 4/2012
    Me DX: Hashimotos,Hypothyroid, DOR, MTHFR,  DH: normal

     IUI #1-#4 BFNs and a few cancelled cycles in the mix.
    - poor responder
    ***Suprise BFP on 6/13/13. Natural MC @6wks 3days
    IVF#1 and 2- Cancelled due to no response on max stimms
    FET 5/20- BFP
    1st Beta- 641
    2nd beta- 2166
    Sono- TWINS!!!!
    Two Boys! Born January 2015 @36 weeks.  Healthy and no NICU!  So blessed!

    Yes.. I have been through the paces with all the text... my midcycle ultrasound is next week... I have regular flows... just with no ovulation success... I guess she just wants to make sure it happens... I just didnt realize it was at a 100mg to start... kinda threw me off...

    She said... yes that is what I want... I have reg. flows.. but rarely ovulate... so we are starting higher...  it was just shocking when I realized... :)- lol

    I wouldn't be too worry, trus the doctor.  I had two clomid cycles, first started at 50 and then 100.  The difference is only one more follicle.

    well since you have had testing and are being monitored I wouldn't worry too much. Your Dr won't let you cycle if you have to many follies.

    I started at 75mg then got bumped to 100.... they look at several factors when choosing your dosage.

    I am so new to all of the lingo... but in addition to the high clomid dose... I have a trigger shot.. and progesterone...waiting in the wings...  I guess my RE isnt messing around for sure... I have been reading everyones' stories.. and what they have been through... I am slowly catching on to all the acronyms.... I am glad I found this! Google is a scary place when you start reading to much!

    It is not possible to have that many mature follicles with Clomid. I was on 100 mg. 2 mature follicle and only one took. Best of luck to you

    One more thing, you would need injectables to get so many follicles

    That is awesome news.. lol-- I really have been worried about starting off so high... with no knowledge or history of how my body would react to clomid.. lol-- I imagined my ovary looking like a ready to pick apple tree! :) hehehehe
