Child birth classes

I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good birthing class in the atlanta area Buckhead/vinings area. I am delivering at Northside and I know they offer classes, but just thought I'd ask if you've had a good experience somewhere else. Thanks in advance for your help! And if you did take the class at Northside, was it good? Would u recommend it?

Re: Child birth classes

  • We used a doula (just for a class not at the birth) because I just felt like I wanted a point of view other than the typical "hospital procedure." I learned a TON from her.

Here's where I found her. Her name is Christine Strain.

  • I just did one on Sat with Julie Duncan, recommended by my piedmontaffiliated obgyn practice. It was good, no complaints, but I'm not inclined to rave about it either. Googling her name brings up her contact info.

I haven't taken any classes other than a worthless hospital one, but if I did, I would have gone the Babysteps route.  Christine was my doula for my last birth and she was awesome!  The other Babystep instructors I know of seem great too.
