New to the board!!

Hi everyone :
I'm pregnant with my first child which is due Nov 14 and me and my husband are both dual military army, Ft Drum NY I was wondering if the military allows you to take maternity leave or do you work up until your due date? Please help me with this one Thanks

    Congrats and welcome.  I am due Nov 21st!

    Now in regards to maternity leave, it is really all up to your doctor.  If your doctor puts no restrictions on you then yes, you may work right up until baby is due.  You may be allowed to take personal leave if you would like.  If your doctor puts you on bed rest or something like that then you will be put on convolescent leave for the period the doc requests.

    Have you been counseled by your CDR ? Once medpros showed I was pregnant my command counseled me and I was able to ask questions at that time.
