Hey ladies. My son is almost 17 months and yes, I let him develop the bad habit of falling asleep with his bottle. Now that he's older, I know I have to take it away and I am seriously stressed. I do not know how he will ever fall asleep without it, especially for his naps, which he already has a hard time with. On top of that, he just LOVES it and I feel bad taking it away. Has anyone else had to take a bottle away and how did you do it?? Thanks!!

Re: Taking away the bottle...
If you go cold turkey, I'd explain that your LO is too big for bottles now, make a big deal of packing the bottles up for another baby who needs them, and maybe give him a replacement lovey he can use like a stuffed animal.
For our DD, we started cutting out one bottle every few weeks leading up to her first birthday. Now she only has a bottle before bed at night, and we're going to slowly decrease the amount starting this weekend. We generally eat dinner fairly late during the week, so I'm not worried about her needing the food, but we'll offer her milk before bed.
Good luck!
Try switching to water in the bottle? This is what my sister did to night wean and eventually my nephew stopped asking for it.
Sometimes things seem way more difficult before you actually do them. I just switched to a straw cup last week. DS is 14m.
