Holiday wish list?

I know, I know it's only July but I'm a planner by nature I can't help myself. Plus, we have so much coming up at the end of the year I have a million things running through my mind, I am trying to organize myself. Anyhow my question is would you consider making a toys r us wish list for your children for Christmas? I have considered this not because I want to demand gifts for DS, but because we have a fairly large family who wants to give DS the world and last year there were a lot of duplicate gifts and the amount of gifts just got out of control. I think I would only let grandparents know about the wish list since they're the main culprits lol. My mom actually suggested this to me last year but I didn't want my family to think I was a demanding brat. After last year though it may not be a terrible idea, thoughts? Also, DS has 3 sets of grandparents and 3 sets of great-grandparents, he's one blessed little boy!

I was thinking of starting something like this so that DH and I remembered some of the things we would like to get for Allison.

But I wouldn't share it. I would just write down some ideas and give it to my parents or anyone else who asked. I can't get past the "registry" feel. It would be more for our reference.

I have an amazon wishlist for L. I made it so I can keep track of the cute things I would like to get him. I don't tell people about it, but if someone asks me what to get Landon, I mention we have an amazon list and if they ask for the info, I pass it on.

I have an Amazon wish list for A that I actually started last year. Whenever I see something I think she might like, I add it to that. Periodically I go through the list for anything I think she would be too old for or wouldn't like anymore. My SIL already mentioned Christmas and said if there is anything I'd like them to get her specifically, to let her know. I told her about A's list so she said she will shop from there when it gets closer.

I think a list of some sorts, whether Amazon or TRU or wherever, is a great idea. It let's people know what they might be in to or is age appropriate.

Ditto the Amazon Wish List! I am the only one that sees it, but it keeps me organized and I can delete/add things as we want. If any of the grandparents or our siblings ask, we will direct them to it for ideas. It's nice to be organized in one place!

We have one. I keep it updated and all the grandparents know about it. It helped at Christmas and her birthday with duplicate gifts. We didn't advertise it to anyone other than the grandparents.

We have TRU wish list for both girls. We let SD go to the store and make her own list. I then adjust it online to things she would never use or she already has. I make one for DD also. With as big of a family I have it's just easier to keep track of everything on there and let my family look at it and figure out what they want to get then me have to keep up with what I told who. I have told them they can get the gift from anywhere and normally they tell me when they have purchased something so I can remove it from the list. Last Christmas was the first time we did this and it was so much more helpful!

I keep a Toys R Us wish list for my kids year round. I just keep updating it. I only tell people if they ask if I have one, but it is nice to have. I wish the kids that I shop for had them! I would love to buy something that they/and the parents really want!
