Ankle clonus in one of my 8 week old twins

Just curious if anyone has a LO who has shown ankle clonus? My twins are 8 weeks, 4 weeks adjusted. My one son is in PT for torticollis, and I mentioned the leg shaking to her. She said it is common in preemies due to an immature nervous system, but definitely something to watch. well that was too vague for me, so of course I consult dr google. Everything I find about it says that it almost always indicates a neurological disorder, likely cerebral palsy. And his shaking is pretty severe, not just one or two beats which makes me more nervous.

Anyone else have experience with this?? I appreciate any advice. My family thinks I'm being paranoid so I have nobody to talk to and I'm sick over it. On top of the postpartum depression I've had.

There is a study on pubmed that says nearly 60 of the infants in their study who had it were normal. Some of the ones who weren't showed other early signs of a delay. So I wouldn't worry. Google is great for scaring the crap out of you, not so much for giving you objective information. My kids both had it and they're fine. I didn't even know it had a name. I called DS2 Thumper for a while because I thought it was funny. :

Not a MoM, but all my kids were 4 weeks early. This most recent one (now 11m), was born at 36w1d. She had shaking in her left leg until about 2-3 months old. We had two different doctors' opinions, and since it went away and had no other symptoms, they aren't concerned even a little bit.

I know it's hard to not worry. As long as you mentioned it to a doctor, try to not worry. If your Mama-gut is telling you it's something more, however, then don't be afraid to speak up and get a second opinion. But in all likelihood, it's nothing.
