I had some brown spotting for a few hours on Sunday, called the on call dr. and he said not to worry. I have an OB appointment tomorrow and was going to beg for him to try the doppler (my next u/s isn't until next Monday and dont' think I can wait that long!). I am worried though that if he can't get the heartbeats on the doppler yet I'll freak out. I will be 11w1d tomorrow.
Any experiences to share about when your OB found the heartbeats audibly?
Re: when could you hear heartbeats on doppler?
Thank you. I know it's early and am just really hoping they can be picked up. The spotting freaked me out.
Don't cause yourself unnecessary stress - it will be very unlikely that you could hear even 1 of the heartbeats that early, and then you will convince yourself something is wrong. We couldn't even hear mine at 13 weeks.
Brown spotting, especially the little bit you described, is totally normal! Please don't worry!
Thank you. Logically I know brown is ok, not to worry, because i've had 4 great ultrasounds things are in my favor. The crazy person in me is running rampant though!
I'm trying to take a minute at a time and just remind myself that today I am 11 weeks pregnant and will see my babies again in less than a week!
Oh believe me, I know that it's easier said than done. The first time I woke up with spotting, I literally almost fainted and had to go lay down. I spotted from 7 weeks until 13 weeks for at leats 4-5 each of those weeks. It would start, stop, be a little heavier, be a little lighter, be stringy, etc, etc. Nothing was ever wrong and now it has been 3 weeks with none! Doctor says that with twins there is just extra blood flow and some women have either more sensitive cervixes or extra blood vessels.
If your doctor feels like there is a problem tomorrow, he will have access to some kind of US machine. Mine brought a small one into the examining room instead of using the Doppler where she quickly scanned, saw the babies and their flicker. We didn't hear it or count but knew it was there.
Good luck!

I had brown spotting yesterday and I'm at 10w4d. I called my dr first thing this morning and luckily he fit me in for an US. Both heartbeats were strong and everyone looked good.
He reassured me that its not uncommon, but seeing the heartbeats is what finally put me at ease.
I'm sure your dr will show you the heartbeats. And I'm sure the spotting is nothing to worry about, just like mine.
