DD will be 7 months on the 18th.... She's had a bite here or there of my food but not every day. Has anyone else not introduced solids yet? Some people are giving me a hard time about this.. but she's doing great EBF.
This is my third and the earliest I give any food is 8 months and then I do solids not baby food. Until then its just EBM, I figure there is nothing better than that so why supplement.
Me! I've let DS try banana, sweet potato, and avocado, but he didn't like any of them and doesn't really show any interest in eating right now. So I don't regularly give him food.
We give her food, but very randomly. I don't think she's had any since last weekend.
I figure that its just one more thing to hassle with right now and I'm gonna take advantage of her not needing or wanting real food too much right now.

this. i do get raised eyebrows from people though. not enough for me to care what they think. My LOs are happy on formula. and continuing to gain.

This is pretty much what we've done. My kid is doing fine on just BM, so I'm not stressing over the solids. He will eat solids eventually.
I was surprised at how many people pushed solids. Camila isn't 100% a fan and we make it more of a game trying to get her to open her mouth.
The only thing she's eaten a whole jar of is apples-sweet potato mix. It took us 3 days to get that and 30 minutes of playing around and food EVERYWHERE!
I don't feed consistently. I do try to feed her right before bath so I don't have to wipe her down too many times. I try to play on her cues when she's done and I give her the spoon and let her play once we're done.
DD has been eating pureed fruits and veggies since she was about 5 months but that's only because she showed a HUGE interest in food. She was opening/closing her mouth when we ate and trying to grab food from us. She loves food time. If she hadn't have shown an interest, I probably would have extended the wait. I don't see any issue in waiting and think BM/formula are fine right now; I wouldn't worry about what other people think about it.
This was us too. Except we skipped purees and went straight to table food (I'm too lenient on the "rules" to actually call it BLW) He still goes crazy any time he sees food!
Thanks ladies! I guess I don't feel *bad* about it.. or that I'm doing something wrong.. its just kind of hard when everyone is like.."WHY aren't you giving her food??? She probably really wants it!" I think Breastmilk is best so why decrease that for baby food.
