~~PGAL Check In~~

For those who do not know PGAL is Pregnant After A Loss. We welcome anyone who has had a chemical pregnancy, miscarriage, still birth or loss of a child and are now pregnant again. Being pregnant after a loss comes with a lot of emotions and, while we're thrilled to be here, it's scary as well. Hopefully we can use this check-in to find support and friendship in other women going through a similar experience.

Note: We have a very large group of 59 members, which is great! I have noticed that many people no longer participate. So starting next week (as long as they do not mess with the board format again!!), I will do 2 or 3 weeks of asking people who would like to remain a part of the members list to give at least a small check in. If I have not seen a check-in in that time I will move them off the main list. All PGAL are always welcome to join in our check-in but I figured it is about time for some house cleaning.  I will clearly post when I start the member list check in! Thanks ladies!!

*********************************************************************************************

If you are new to the group and wish to be added to the members list please asked to be added, give a little intro and tell us your EDD!

  •  How many weeks? 12 weeks Symptoms? Pretty nauseous off and on, exhausted and upset stomach from time to time.
Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? We had our NT scan on Monday and my bleed is much smaller. Last week they told me we were at high risk for miscarrying. On Monday the doctor said everything looked good. So I am feeling a bit better but not great about things. We have another ultra sound next friday and my glucose test. My appointments will be every 2 weeks now which will help with my anxiety. GTKY: What is your favorite date night activity with your SO? Lately its been going out to dinner and coming home to watch mad men on net flix. But we love taking a picnic to the beach with our dog and watching the sunset. Sometimes we will go out for an ice cream or go bowling.

    How many weeks? 16w2d

Symptoms? Living the beautiful second tri life. No real symptoms - a little RLP that flairs a bit with my kidney issues.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? I am actually feeling better from my kidney infection. I've been getting IV antibitics every morning & afternoon (compromise to an actual hospital stay) - although I look like a drug addict now with my track marks. Today is the last day of meds - I have my fingers crossed that the infection will be gone for good.  TMI - now I'm working on the pooping - narcotics & Zofran are not a great combination.

GTKY: What is your favorite date night activity with your SO? What is this date night you speak of? Our date nights usually consist of me being able to stay up after DD goes to bed & we watch a show together. I drink hot cocoa & DH has a glass of wine.

  • - I'm 12 weeks tomorrow.

    - Besides the big belleh, I have no real symptoms.

    - I had my first OB appt last Friday and it went really well.  I just adore my OB... she delivered all 3 of my babies and I hope she is able to deliver this one as well.  She was SO EXCITED for me :)  So cute.  Anyway, I also had my first glucose test and I'm assuming I passed, considering I haven't heard anything (no news is good news at my OB's office.)  I also scheduled my a/s at MFM on August 30th!  YAY!

GTKY: DH and I usually have date days b/c we have 3 kids that we need to get home too and get to bed. ;)  So we usually go to a movie and early dinner.  Actually, our last date day we went to a winery and then dinner... it was fab!  So fab, in fact, that it was the day I got KTFU.  Ha! ;)

I've been MIA the last couple of weeks as I've been traveling on Wednesdays. Feels good to be home!

    How many weeks?

    12 weeks today!

    Symptoms?

Still nauseous from time to time, but I haven't thrown up in a couple of weeks! Yea! Getting more tired (which is strange...I expected to feel exhausted earlier). Also my appetite is starting to pick up. I constantly want to eat!

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share?

We had a great appointment last Friday. Strong heartbeat in the high 170s and my doctor gave me an ultrasound just to put my mind at ease. Little one was "swimming" around. So cute! We have out NT scan on July 24.

GTKY: What is your favorite date night activity with your SO?

Honestly, just dinner at a nice restaurant. With 2 kids, we seldom get to even say one sentence at dinner without being interrupted. It is so nice to be able to just talk to one another. Although I also like going to movies, but will always choose dinner over movies so we rarely go unless there is something we are both dying to see out.

  • How many weeks: 15w3d

Symptoms: None. Enjoying the bliss of second tri.

Updates or appointments: Appointment next week. I am having difficulty finding Baby Cow on the doppler, however I do keep hearing sounds like baby is swimming away from the doppler. I'm trying not to let my PGAL brain go crazy right now.

GTKY: We don't really do date nights. Probably dinner and a movie.

MeganWorden, I like the way you run things! (with the purge and all).

  • How many weeks? 12w6d

Symptoms? occasional dry-heaving, spotting is subsiding

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? Anxiously waiting for my doctor to come back from his vacation. Next appt is July 24. I started to bleed a lot brown blood last week (very scary) I had some cramps prior to this, and it worried me. BUT my doppler has been a godsend in those times. Heard baby with a strong HB of 165! also, I had my loss milestone 2 days ago...looking forward to officially hitting 2nd trimester.

GTKY: What is your favorite date night activity with your SO? Hiking. We live by a big park and I love (used to before I got pregnant) going on long walks/hikes. Now, I just like to cuddle up and watch a movie or just sit on the couch and talk.

  • How many weeks: 12w2d.

Symptoms: Still dealing with the SCH. Nausea is sucking right now, but I think it's getting better [I hope it is, at least]. Acne's finally getting better.

Updates and appointments: My OB is on a mission trip right now, so he transferred me to a new person [MFM?]. I meet with him on July 29 to check on my SCH, then I see my regular OB on August 6. My nerves are shot with this pregnancy.

GTKY: Chinese and a night in, or dinner and bowling [we love bowling].

So I took a Benedryl last night and just had DH pick up Claritin today so I can take that during the day! ugh!

  • Sorry I haven't been posting much here lately...super crazy at home and work and been traveling a lot it seems. I think we are home now for the remainder of the summer :)

How many weeks? We hit 12 weeks this last weekend!

Symptoms? Some days are better than others, but still extremely exhausted and have only really been sick twice, but have an extremely increased gag reflex and very sensative to a lot of smells.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share?

No real big news since our last appointment 2 weeks ago, but they did bump my due date up to Jan 23. Go back again on the 30th and can't wait to hopefully hear the hb again!

GTKY: What is your favorite date night activity with your SO?

We don't get out that much so I'd probably just say dinner and a movie.  I did, however, suprise DH with tickets to a a concernt for his B-day....too bad the concernt isn't until Sept. Guess we just have something to look forward to.

P.S. My computer is being wierd so I apologzie for the funky formatting

Why would you remove anyone, even if they don't participate in the check in? I haven't been participating, but I read it. Am I suddenly not worthy of the PgAL list just because I choose not to update in the check in? I think that's kind of crappy, to be completely honest.

MeganWorden, I like the way you run things! (with the purge and all).

Thanks! I dont want to exclude anyone but it annoys me to see people on the list that do not participate. OCD or something I guess.

I'm an admin of DD's BMB FB group (that's a lot of acronymns!) and we do a quarterly purge for the lurkers. I like things nice and cleaned up. Happy to be inclusive, but it's a two way street.

I adamantly disagree with doing this. Who are you to decide the level of participation that people have? Perhaps people are taking a break or opting not to post for reasons that you don't know. I am actually quite disgusted by this. I read this check in, but I stopped posting my own updates. I find a lot of it redundant and I get sick of repeating myself. But I am still PgAL and I still participate in this community as a whole. I don't like that if I choose not to post, I'm kicked off the list. I think that's messed up.

ETA: I do understand that there are people who don't participate at all, even in the Jan 2014 board. But I would be hesitant to remove regular members simply because they aren't posting here. I check back on this list occasionally to remind myself if someone is PgAL if it's not in her siggy.

  • How many weeks: 12 weeks, 6 days - my EDD has been moved to Jan 23! We measured over 8 days ahead at my last u/s, so they decided to bump me up a bit...

Symptoms: Still fighting m/s that's more like any-time- of-day-sickness... I think I'm having RLP now, and I have to pee ALL the time!

Updates or appointments: I saw my OB for the first time yesterday. We heard the heartbeat (although, I had cheated, and used my Doppler for the first time the day before!) - it is the best sound ever!!! I go back on August 9th; she sees her IF/RPL ladies a little more frequently, just to reassure us :) We've also come out of the closet with our news, and have started telling family and friends, which is both exciting, and terrifying!

GTKY: We don't really do formal date-nights, but I do enjoy going for late-night appetizers, and conversation :)

So glad everything is going well for all you ladies! Just think, we are all ~30% through! The time seems to be flying (but dragging when waiting for an appointment)!!

  • How many weeks? 13

Symptoms? Nausea is subsiding! Yay! Still gaggy though.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? August 2 is our next appointment and August 10 we find out the sex!

At our NT the SCH appeared smaller and I haven't spotted in nearly 2 weeks now! Hopefully it reabsorbs and resolves by our next appointment.

GTKY: What is your favorite date night activity with your SO? Dinner and just spending time. Seems like we rarely get time for just the two of us.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? I have my next prenatal appointment on the 26th.  I will schedule my anatomy scan then.

GTKY: What is your favorite date night activity with your SO? There is a beautiful garden that we have a membership to, and it has become a favorite date destination for DH and I.  We usually do daytime dates because it is easier to get someone to watch the kids.

I am sorry you feel this way. I am more than willing to pm you my list of PGAL ladies for your personal reference. I do not plan to "kick anyone off the list", especially none of the people who post regularly. I simple wish to move the one time posters off the active members list. At any point I am more than willing to add people back onto the active members list. If you wish to stop posting in this group it is your choice.

  • How many weeks: 14 today

Symptoms: Feeling good actually. Just some heartburn and peeing. A lot.

Updates/Appointments: I go Monday for another ultrasound. They may be taking a chance at seeing if they can determine the sex, so that makes me pretty excited.

GTKY: We love going to the drive in during the summer.

January2014 Blog ** Admin to the January 2014 FB group!
  • Hello. I am new to this post. I am due 1/26/14. I miscarried at 9 weeks last summer I would of been due in march. This pregnancy started off scary but things seem to be going well now. FXed!

    I am 12 and 3 today.

The only symptoms I seem to be having now if being hungry every 1.5-2 hrs and getting nauseous if I can't eat. I cannot sleep in for the life of me. I work midnights so i kind of depend on sleeping in. And my clothes are beginning to get tight : ) Which i like, means baby is growing. Makes me happy!

I just had a check up on monday, the plan was just to do a doppler. I had been getting US every 2 weeks in the beginning. They happen to place us in the room with the US machine and me Dr. came in with the d doppler and went over questions with us and then was like well since were in the same room at the US might as well do a US. I was like sure! I don't mind at all. It was awesome our baby was sucking his/her thumb the whole time. It was amazing. Now I will not see my dr for 4 weeks. I was seeing her every 2. So it makes me nervous to switch. But deep breath right? One day at a time...

As for my favorite date night activity. I like to mixed things up. Although I do like going out to dinner in the downtown near us and then walking around town and in the park after, there is a side walk that goes near a river and its nice to walk along there. We normally get ice cream as well. : )

    BFP #1 (7/13/12) MC (8/14) 9 weeks. D & C 8/17.
BFP #2 (5/18/13) due 1/26/14. Grow baby grow!
    Its a surprise! Team green!

I'm having some weird formatting issues it seems, but thank you for running this! I haven't been around much lately due to my computer crashing, but I have a new one now so I'm hoping to be around more :)

How many weeks? 12w4d (my ticker is now off by a day, my EDD was changed to the 25th after my first u/s)

Symptoms? Tiredness is going away a teeny bit, which is nice. I'm starting to show and I'm really excited about that. I've had a bit of what I think might be RLP when I move certain ways. Overall, I'm feeling pretty good though.

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? I have my NT scan on July 22nd, and my next OB appointment on July 29th. I've had small bouts of anxiety over my NT scan here and there, but I'm mostly just excited to see baby again.

GTKY: What is your favorite date night activity with your SO? We don't really do a lot of date nights, usually just out for dinner, sometimes a movie or something. We are pretty relaxed lol

  • How many weeks? 15

Symptoms? Back pain, being exhausted all the time, swollen feet

Any updates or appointments coming up that you'd like to share? Aug 22 is our a/s!

GTKY: What is your favorite date night activity with your SO? Well it used to be visiting wineries, not just at night! Now it is either going to a nice dinner or he grills and we spend the evening lounging on the couch. A foot rub is a bonus!

Hope all of you ladies are hanging in there!

Nothing you have said above changes my opinion in the least. In the end, you can do whatever you want to do, and I can think it's crappy. It's not the end of the world either way. And If I choose not to post for a few weeks and get kicked off the Jan 2014 PgAL island, I guess I will have known better. I'll learn my lesson, dammit.

You don't need to PM me the list. I'll bookmark this thread.

  • How many weeks?
