Speaking of tantrums....

Do any of your LO's bang their head on the floor or ends of the couch?

 

One thing I cannot understand about my lil bear is when he gets upset and throws a tantrum sometimes he will bang his head on the ends of a couch, floor, pillow. Its not all the time but it still bothers me. I will tell him no...ouchie and put him in his bed or sit him on the couch.

We do not spank. So I don't understand where he gets the banging from.

    Ds used to do this and it was just a phase. It's actually quite common. Don't pay attention to him when he does it. He's doing it mostly for attention, so when you say "no, owie" or make any kind of reaction he got what he wanted from you. Just ignore it when it happens and I promise you that he will not hurt himself.

    Thanks Shan. DH read this post and was like babe he does it for attention duh. LOL. I guess if anything just wanted to see if any other LO's do this too. From here on out I will not say a thing to him.

    I hear it's pretty common. I honestly don't know how **I** would handle it, but what ShanAdo said makes a lot of sense to me.

    Agree with shanado, DD used to do this. The more attention I paid to it the more she did it. Once I started ignoring the behavior, it stopped altogether almost immediately.
