Success after IF

Provera anyone and what's up with my hormones?

So....I am torturing myself by analyzing our failed May FET after the RE had me thinking I was fertile Myrtle.  DD1 is a result of IVF+ICSI and DDs2&3 are surprise BFPs; I've had 3 successful pregnancies and I know I am unbelievably blessed.  However, I feel like they were overly optimistic and now I am super-worried about my last two embies and the upcoming FET....whenever that is!  I don't think it's in my siggy, but we are severe MFI.  I usually had fairly regular cycles (4-5 weeks)

DD3 is 11.5 months old; we went to the RE when she was close to 6 months because we knew we wanted to try a FET when she was 8-9 months old.  I was supplementing/BF and had gotten AF around 6-7 months after DD1 and DD2, so I assumed I would get AF shortly.  After a few months, I didn't get AF, so the RE ordered a hydrosonogram (everything was clear) and then prescribed Provera so I would bleed and could start the FET cycle.

After the BFN, the RE said I had to wait a cycle because the embryology lab was undergoing it's yearly maintenance during my next potential transfer week.  It's now been 5 weeks since my period after the FET, and there are no signs of AF.  He prescribed provera again yesterday so hopefully I will get AF later this week and then I'll start the FET protocol.  I'm just wondering...what's up with my body?  I am worried I have some kind of hormone issue and also that it will affect my FET.  I don't feel that they monitored me too closely during the first FET, but that could be me just looking for flaws since it was a BFN.  I'm 32 years old.

Anyone else had to use provera?  Any thoughts?  TIA

I'm assuming you have done a HPT before starting provera? I never get AF without the help of provera or BCPs, but I have PCOS. FX it's just a fluke and your next cycle is the one. GL!

  • I don't have much insight for you but I will say that FETs have very little monitoring & it seems like you/they should be doing more.  It is also normal to feel how you do after a failed cycle.  I had a failed FET in November & was fully convinced the next cycle would be the same.  The monitoring was the same for each & I had success this time around.  Best of luck with your upcoming cycle :)
