The coroner just released he died of a heroin and alcohol overdose. I was SO hoping this wouldn't be the case. I'm a glee freak, a gleek if you'd like to put it and I was really hoping the time in rehab helped him. I'm sad that this will be the way the world remembers him, rather than an incredibly talented man. I'm sad all over again.

ETA: Also, I'm disgusted that Westboro is choosing to picket at his funeral because he supported his gay co-stars. They even went as far as to state that they were going to picket because his brother in the show was gay. Gosh! (Also, I don't know if Westboro Church is known throughout the world, they are from my home state so sorry if this is a comment that no one knows anything about.)

I'm not a fan of Glee but that being said, I've watched many interviews with him talking about his struggles and it breaks my heart. He seemed very genuine and the loss of a life is never something easy to swallow.

It is so sad!! So young and talented. Its got to be hard on all of his loved ones, not just his loss but the fact that all his demons are out there for public scrutiny.

I was expecting it, but was hoping that it wasn't the case. I was even to the point where I knew he had died from "drug related issues" but was hoping it wasn't a direct result of recent usage if that makes sense. I am very interested in how it will play out, I can't even begin to think of how it will. All I know is I for see lots of tears this upcoming season.

This exactly. I very much expected drug overdose.

I'm very saddened by the death of Cory, but Finn was not my favorite character (I also did not think he was a "heartthrob"). I'm very curious to see how Ryan Murphy handles all of this

It's sad that a lot of our American actors and singers are killing themselves with drugs!

On your other note.... Westboro can suck it I know that was immature!! They are horrible people filled with hate and black souls. I hope they don't picket.

I can't imagine how anyone that is not a member of Westboro could possibly think what they do is anything but a joke. I feel awful for the people they target, it is so rude and disrespectful. As an observer I just think they continue to make a mockery of themselves and are doing absolutely nothing for their "cause" - unless that cause is to show everyone what d-bags they are.

He was Canadian. And he died in Canada. I would expect his funeral will be in Canada, and that Westboro members would never be allowed to cross the border.

I'm a total Gleek and loved Cory. I have been so sad about this because unlike so many celebs, he was upfront about his addiction and his need for help. He seemed like a genuine and lovely person. He didn't run around with the normal cast of druggy idiots in Hollywood.

I'm so sad that this is what he will be remembered for. I will choose to remember a talented young man, who had some demons, and who left us far too young.

I was a dedicated watcher of the show for the first couple of seasons but fell out of it. It is a terrible loss not because he was an actor but just the shear thought of how young he was. I feel for his parents.

It's just a sad situation. Drugs are bad and I really think some celebrities think they are invincible.

I never got into the show but I loved him. He was very talented and I feel so bad that this is how his life ended.

My husband and I are devastated. I can't get him off my mind. I always related to the show and music touches my heart. It's so sad there is no more Finn. I did some reading and every time he went back to Canada the drug and alcohol use would take place. He was clean on the Glee set and abstained while shooting. Family knew of his activities while in Canada so it's tragic there wasn't a better way to prevent him from being surrounded by the influences up there. RIP Cory!
