First of all, I am not talking about dieting here so please don't jump me.
I am the mother of two beautiful perfectly healthy children and I am pregnant with my third and final child. I just got my positive pregnancy test yesterday and based on last period date I'm sitting at around 7wks. Now my question is, I'm scheduled to get married Nov.23rd and I am currently about 95-100lbs overweight. I am not looking to lose weight exactly, just trying to figure out a healthy calorie range for me and the little one currently taking up space in my lower half. With my other two children I was overweight and gained between 11 and 13lbs during the entire pregnancy which my doctor said was an excellent weight gain considering how I was before I got pregnant...however over the last few months (including before I go pregnant) I developed even worse eating habits then I had before. So now that I know I'm pregnant I'm really trying to steer towards a healthy diet but am still terrified of eating way more then is required (and maybe even healthy...is it possible to eat TOO much while you're pregnant?)
Anyway, getting down to the point at hand, I work an office job with little to no movement required and no lifting of any kinds. I swim about 2hrs a week (light swimming so I don't imagine it burns very many calories) So what would be a good calorie intake range for me?

SparkPeople has a website for expecting mothers: https://babyfit.sparkpeople.com/ It gives you calorie & nutrition ranges for your pregnancy, taking into account your size & activity level, to gain a "healthy" amount of weight. It's a free site & I love the regular version, so may be good to look into for you.
Best of luck!
Buy lots of fresh fruits and veggies....and make sure they are incorporated into every snack and meal, if not make up the whole meal.
also, I agree with pp in slowly adding in physical activity, walking, hiking...

I'm in a similar situation as you. I'm pregnant with my 6th and this was unplanned. I was the heaviest I've been after my last pregnancy, and she's 15 months. I had lost about 26lbs between january and may but had gained back 6 just after I had concieved. I was over weight during my last pregnancy and tried so hard to eat healthy and avoid junk but ended up in the er one from dehydration and my body was metabolizing to much. The worst part was I had been fighting the horrible cravings I was having for chocolate but the Dr. told me that I needed that. Obviously not to over indulge but I could eat a candy bar once or twice a week. I'm not trying to diet either but I really don't want to gain anymore weight. I know that it doesn't matter how much you put in its how much you burn in a day so I'm trying really hard to be as active as possible and just make really healthy food choices.
Swimming is a great form of exercise burns a ton of calories. I'm trying to find a place I can afford where I can do laps. The best thing is to talk to your Dr. about your concern and keep exercising and eating healthy, and know your not alone.
I agree that you need to talk to your doctor about this! I can share my experience though. I saw my ONGYN yesterday and am also incredibly overweight. I have lost 85 lbs before trying to get pregnant but still have A LOT more to go. I asked my OBGYN if I could lose weight and she said that she was comfortable with my full medical history if I lose weight the whole first trimester. As long as I eat 1800 calories it will be safe for me to lose weight.
That being said, that was her answer after sending me to a nutritionist and doing tons of tests and weighing everything out. She also sent me to a high risk doctor to evaluate me who also said it was safe to lose during the first trimester.
Again, ask you doctor but hopefully this is good news for you as it was for me!
