I wear DS for much of the day, especially when he is napping. This started because he would never nap without being held. He goes down to sleep at night with no problem (he sleeps in a pack-n-play in our room), but refuses to nap on his own. I'd like for him to start napping (at least once a day) in his bed. What's the best way to help him? I'm not sure how I feel about the CIO method, but is 3-4 months even old enough to try that? Also, DH has been pushing to move him to his crib in the nursery at night. Would it be a good idea to try to get him to nap in the crib during the day, or work on napping in the pack-n-play and then worry about the crib transition later?
Re: transition from moby to crib
IMO way to young for CIO.
I would perhaps start by placing him in pack and play in his nursery. Then you can adjust to him being down the hall, and he can adjust to be in his room in the comfort of his familiar pack an play. After doing that for a bit start putting him in the crib.
Personally I would continue naps in the carrier while you get him doing nights in the crib (his room). Once that is routine start doing naps in there too. It might be too much to suddenly stop naps in carrier and kick him out of your room and out of his pack and play all at once!!
Agreed, we'll definitely do one transition at a time. Just gotta figure out the best order...
And thanks for the cio info. My gut said he was too young, but it's good to know the "experts" agree
