1st Birthday Party - WWYD?

My son turns 1 on August 28th. Here's the problem: the weekend before his birthday I am actively hosting and participating in my sil's bachelorette party, the next weekend is Labor Day, the weekend after that is sil's wedding day, and after that is the weekend after my birthday.

In addition, we just moved about 2 hours away from everyone we know to the coast.

When would you suggest having lo's party?

What if you just do a small party on his actual birthday? My second choice would be to do it on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.

If it were me I would do it the weekend of my birthday, I mean, are you really going to have an afternoon party for yourself? You can still celebrate your birthday the next night or something. Or, like PP mentioned, I would do it over Labor Day weekend unless your family has long standing Labor Day plans.

ETA: I just noticed you moved. Because of this I like the idea of your birthday weekend even better, you can celebrate both with your family without them or you having to make the trip twice.

My DS turns 1 on August 28th also. You could always ask around to see if people will be able to make it to a labor day weekend bday party. Although it might be fun to celebrate both your birthdays and have a joint party.
