Hi everyone! My DH and I have been waiting to be matched for 5 years. We have been ttc #2 for 9 years. We just recently completed our first IVF cycle with a bfn. A couple of days after we got the news that our IVF failed, we received a phone call from our case worker (we are going through our local public children's services agency) that there is a little boy who is available for adoption. We submitted our home study and now we wait! Due to things changing (welcome to the world of adoption!) the matching conference will be 3 months away. So, we just wait to hear and that's hard! While we're waiting, we'll also be doing a FET cycle with our remaining embryos. So, this could end up being a really crazy roller coaster ride, but we've waited long enough, so we're very excited and optimistic!
I just wanted to introduce myself here before I started commenting on posts! I hope you'll have me and I wish all of you the best of luck and many blessings on your adoption journey, as well!

Mother of two wonderful boys! Blessed through adoption.
Hi and welcome!
Maybe everyone else already knows what this is, but what is a matching conference?
After 2 years of IF workups/treatments and 2 IUIs, we have closed the door on fertility treatments.
We are very excited to be pursuing international adoption from China!

Thanks for the welcome!
A matching conference is done in foster/adopt situations where there are multiple couples that are interested in adopting the same child. In our situation, three case workers with our local cps agency will bring 2 home studies from families that are on their case load to a meeting (matching conference) and read through each home study, line by line, and select the family they feel is the best fit for the child. So, we are being considered with five other families. Nerve wracking for sure! Then, our own case worker will "talk us up" to describe us to the other case workers. Then, the child's worker will make the final decision based on what she hears and reads in the home studies. She has 90 days to make a decision and interview a couple of families if she wants to do so.

My Blog
After 1 IUI, 3 IVF's with CGH/CCS testing, 10 early miscarriages, and lots of tears and frustration, we are moving on to Domestic Infant Adoption! We are so excited to see what the future holds.
Wow that would be stressful! Hopefully it won't take the full 90 days before you hear something!
