oh the people of walmart

I had to share this, I'm still a little surprised. I swung by Wal-Mart tonight on my way home from work for a few things. I was wearing a multi-colored maxi dress, that, well, makes me look huge, but then again, everything at 31 weeks makes me look huge. Anyway, 4 total strangers, in different areas of the store stopped and asked me if I was pregnant! Really?  I was so stunned I couldn't come up with a witty come back! Some people I know claim I don't look big enough to be carrying twins, which I appreciate as them trying to be nice, but asking if I'm actually pregnant at this point? I measure 6 weeks ahead and trust me, there is definitely two wiggle worms in there! Makes me wonder what people thought the alternative answer would have been? I'm all out front, way past the "did she have a big lunch or is she...?" Stage. It! Some people's IQ' s are as low as Wal-Mart's prices!

    I would have told him I was looking for the weightloss section and walked away. I think I am just in a horrible mood lately and have zero patience for people and their questions.

    But really, this is why I dont go out as often. I will make a quick Target stop after my OB appts once a week and thats about it.

    Heh....wait til you're walking around with the babies and everyone greets you with "twins?" I've been tempted to answer something snarky like "No, this one is a year older but he's really small" or "No, this one's adopted"....which would be kinda funny since they're ID. But I usually just say "Yep", roll my eyes, and move on.

    When my son was 5 months and my nephew was 10 months I took them to a large Christmas craft show by myself. My son is thin, tall and red headed. My nephew is big for his age and blonde. They look somewhat alike but not much. Anyway, an older woman in a booth asked me if they were brothers. I said no cousins, she said "oh I thought they were twins and there was something wrong with the little one". I just walked away. I spent the rest of the day staring at my son trying to figure out what made him look funny! FTM worries I guess. I guess  it was to prep me for what's to come!

    If you're at Walmart or such, you could reply "Nope, found one in the clearance aisle! Figured since we have one already, why not have a second one?"  :)

    Lol! You just made me choke on my lunch!

    TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

    Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
