When to have a baby shower

I am due December 28th
When is a good time to have a baby shower. I am a first time mother and have no idea of when it's acceptable. I'm currently 4 months now.
6months?
Or
7months ?
Or even 8?

I'm due the 3rd and if my girlfriends throw me something like they say they are going to, it will be at the end of October. My first shower was at the beginning of June and I was due July 12th. I ended up being induced the day after my shower due to pre-eclampsia.

Mine is being held late September or early October. Before it gets yucky outside and I get too uncomfortable. Not to mention November and December are very busy for people.

I think most have their showers around 30 weeks, though I am sure it varies with everyone's availability.

My mom is planning mine for mid-October. She wanted me to be "noticeably big" because apparently it is not fun otherwise, lol. If I wasn't travelling 3 hours for it, we would actually probably aim for early November.

First week of October here, my sister is due at the end of October and like pp's have said nov and dec are very busy months and not really good times to hold showers.

My shower is the week after Labor Day. My mom is hosting it at my house and wanted the weather to still be nice. Plus, my brother is getting married in October.

I'm having my shower at 30 weeks, I just want to be comfortable and able to have a good time. Any later than that I think I would just be too stressed and huge to want to deal with a shower.

I'm due 12/2. My shower is set for sept 28 so I will be almost 31 weeks. I didnt want it to be too early or so late that I was crabby and uncomfortable. Also as PP said nov and dec are busy months!

Lol on mobile this title reads as when to have a baby. I was like well most people just go with when the contractions start and their water breaks but if you want to schedule a csection lol I need some sleep.

I think I'm going with early October. I live in Chicago and my sister is most likely hosting it at her house. She has a beautiful roof deck she just got done so it will be beautiful in the fall out there and not too cold yet.

I have the same due date. My sister us throwing mine on the first weekend in November. We were going to do it in October, but it's a busy month for our family.

Mine is October 13th and I'm due Dec 8th. My friends had to pick a date so early because I live 12 hours from my home town and family. I'm going to fly up for the weekend. My parents are driving up for the week to be there too.

I am due the 12th and my mom is planning for end of October/early November so we don't interfere with any holiday plans because everyone's so busy in Nov/Dec.

I'm due December 15th, and my shower is planned for November 24th, which is the weekend before thanksgiving. I'm Jewish and my family doesn't believe in showers because they say its bad luck to have things in your home before baby arrives, which is why we are doing it do late.

My step mother insists on doing mine for me - but on my birthday, November 21st. I have no problem with it, only that I will be 37 weeks by then. I don't want to miss the chance because I've gone into labor (especially since the doctors are already watching out for preclampsia). I'm trying to convince her to do it earlier, but we've got dilemmas. My nephews birthday is a week before Halloween. Then we have Halloween, of course, followed by my little sisters birthday on the 5th, older sister on the 9th, step sister on the 12, mine on the 21, aunts on the 26th, and little brothers on the 30th.

And the birthdays continue consecutively until mid January.
This is a horribly busy birthday time for my family, haha.
Maybe early October for me? 30-33 weeks?

My sisters have been talking about having mine the weekend after Thanksgiving (I'm due 12/27, so I'll have less than a month to go at that point). But after reading this thread I'm worried that might be too late. There's just a lot of people that would have to travel for it and a lot of them will already be in town for Thanksgiving anyway. We'll see. Luckily we live 20 minutes from the town we grew up in and where both our parents live so hopefully most people won't be leaving town for the holiday.

I'm due the 28th, too, but my friends are talking about mid to late October. As others have said, going into November starts getting into holiday/travel. Plus, I want to have time to get everything organized before LO gets here. I've gone to showers where the expectant mom is due maybe a few weeks later. I don't want to go that long to find out what all we still need to buy.
