My DH got a new job and now I have insurance that will cover midwifery services at a hospital birth center. I've set up the initial appointment and a tour of the birth center. I'll be 35 weeks at the 1st midwife appointment. So I should get to see a few midwives before I birth the baby.
Very happy about this for various reasons...such as the fact that the midwifery clinic only puts an IV needle in your hand if you actually need an IV! Plus, their nurses should be more familiar with non-medicated births.

Yay! I'm going to a birth center with midwives, too. I labored with my first at the birth center and was so glad to be able to walk around freely, eat and drink, and otherwise do what my body wanted to do (including laboring in a tub) rather than spend hours stuck in a hospital bed with an IV.
I hope you have a beautiful pregnancy and birth experience.
