Should be called 99,990 names you'd never use. Don't get me wrong, I know that there's no way to make a book with names that appeal to everyone, but good grief some of these names!
Some of my fav finds from the girl names so far -
Baby, Kiss, Fog, Flirt, Flicky, Cloud
There's a ton of other examples, but these are the ones that jump out just flipping through the first section.
I did find this one that I'm actually really liking though -
Aisley (F, English) - from the ash-tree meadow
What awesome names have you come across lately, good or bad?
Re: 100,001 Baby Names
We have the same book! And i've said pretty much the same thing. I should have bought a much smaller book of names because you are right, 99% of them are things I wouldn't even consider. I laughed out loud when I got to Flirt... that's not a daughter I want!
I can't wait to meet you Neva Margaret Rebecca
I don't have a baby name book but some bad names I know of in real life include a little boy named Lyric, and a little girl with a hyphenated last name that essentially sounds like "Princess" (the names were put in that order purposely by the mom so she would be a "Princess").
I also know of a man whose first and middle names are legally "Jimmy James" and another first and middle name "Jack Daniels" (yes - the "s" on the end of Daniel is there on purpose)

Those name books are useless. I was so frustrated reading through them during my first pregnancy.
I know this is a bit off topic, but try nymbler.com -- it's a really useful site that's more than just endless lists of non-names.

I have heard numerous variations of the Ledasha story. So I wonder if this mother was just kidding around, or if she actually thought she was being original. There's even a snopes entry about the variations of this naming scheme.
