Complaint for all the GD Mommas Out There

Plain greek yogurt is just not very tasty.  I mix berries in it but it is still a far cry from the over sugared flavored yogurts I am used to!  It's such a healthy GD snack and it does fill you up though.  I feel so lucky that there is an end in sight to this and beautiful reward at the end!!

  • I have to agree with you lol. I don't have GD, but I'm following the diet to keep weight at a reasonable number. When I first tried plain greek yogurt I thought I was eating rancid regular yogurt. It takes some time but you do get used to it. Just remember final stretch!

  • Have you tried frozen berries instead of fresh?  As they thaw, they juice and it will give it more flavour.

  • I totally agree! I tried Fage....BLAH! It left a bitter after taste for the rest of the day. I took the advice from the dietician and switched to Chobani 0% fat and then have a small portion of fruit with it when having a snack.

  • Try adding honey to it along with the berries. It will taste a little sweeter.

This. You can also make yogurt savory try adding a little lemon juice, chopped cucumber, fresh dill and even tomato.

Don't do this. If you're GD honey will raise your number. Honey is tastey but honey is dangerous.

My bedtime snack if me shoveling 3 to 4 spoonfuls of nasty greek yogurt in my mouth infront of the fridge. It isn't even worth a bowl or to sit down.

    GD is a pain.

If you're GD beware of frozen berries. They have a ton of hidden sugar. Some of the varieties are coated in sugar prior to freezing. I am sure there is a natural brand out there that is good, but most are loaded...

  • Try the banana cream greek yougurt by oikos. I like that one:)

  • I have GD and I have 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt in the morning for breakfast and I have been mixing it with 1/4 cup kashi go lean crisp cinammon crumble. The kashi stuff has a lot if protein in it and it is pretty tasty.

  • Can you add some Splenda? Not sure if that would be gross but maybe it's worth a shot?
