I saw that wal-mart has some cheapo tube tops (2 for $10) and figured this might be a much more cost effective alternative to buying nursing tanks, such as the "undercover mama" that clip to the nursing bra to provide torso coverage while breast feeding. They look fabulous, but not sure if I want to spend $25 on a simple tank to wear underneath my shirt. Just wondering if anyone else had the same idea or tried it before?
Re: Tube top in lieu of nursing tank?
I don't think she meant not to wear a bra, the "nursing tanks" from undercover mama hook to your nursing bra so you can "transform" any regular shirt into a nursing shirt (basically you can pull up your regular shirt, and you are still covered underneath, a tube top would be similar, but wouldn't attach to the nursing bra)
Thanks for the info, I'll have to check out Target and see if they have any good nursing tanks that aren't too expensive!
I'm petite, but my boobs are HUGE...right now I'm wearing a 34 DD. I definitely wouldn't be using a tube top as my only means of support
I'll proabably invest in a couple of nursing tanks, and also have a couple of those walmart tube tops on hand for back up.
Ross not target
I literally have ONE nursing tank and used it only the first week after DS was born. Otherwise, I wore sports bras under T-shirts at home and then, when out and about, wore a cami under everything so that when I needed to nurse I pulled the cami down and the shirt up. I also used a cover.
Just a thought. I know some moms really like being able to use a nursing tank. I just thought they were all overpriced and I got along fine without any (or 1).
