Mobile: I am freaking out right now.
So, I just read this article about children taking Miralax, and all I can think is, there's got to be another way. What's wrong with my baby?
ETA: We've done all of the usual things. DD eats at least 2 oz. of pureed prunes or pears everyday, and we avoid bananas and cheese. She'll also usually have an ounce or two of probiotic yogurt, and the rest of her diet is mostly fruit, beans, veggies, and Cheerios, and occasionally pasta, rice, or shredded chicken or beef. In the past few days we've also given her 2 - 4 oz. of pear juice everyday, too. But she hasn't gone since Wednesday, despite having three teaspoons of Miralax yesterday and four today. I'm okay with using it in the short term to correct this problem, but I'd really like to find a more natural way to treat her constipation going forward.
I'm wondering if this isn't being caused by something in my diet? She's still nursing 5 or 6 times a day. We didn't start having these issues until she got through the peanut butter poo phase, though, and really started eating a lot of solids.
Re: I am freaking out right now.
Have you considered a lactose intolerance issue? I meant to tell you that part of our solution for Addie was cutting out most dairy, and switching to lactose free products. As much as it sucks, have you considered doing an elimination diet?

~All AL'ers welcome~
I was actually thinking about this last night. I though maybe the coffee I've been indulging in since we started solids might be part of the problem, too?
She's in serious discomfort when she does go, which is usually only once or twice a week. She is eating enough solids in addition to nursing that her poo is ploppable... I'd be okay with less than once a day if she weren't in such pain when she does go.

Idk on the coffee...coffee usually has the opposite effect for me, KWIM?
No, she's never really cared for oatmeal. Pretty much the only thing she gets pureed lately is pears, squash, or a carrot/apple/mango blend, the latter two I've stopped giving her just in case!
