it was so-so. I did stay active 3 days last week, but this last weekend was so busy my eating was not the best at all. oh well, there is always this week right?
Last week was so-so. 1run, 1 Zumba, 2 elliptical/weight days. I felt the lack of running over the last week when I went out this morning, thank God for DHs massages! Eating was alright last week, the conference I was at for 3 days carbed us up. Luckily they always had a big bowl of fresh fruit I could fill up on.
This week I'm going for 4 runs (1 done already) with one being a long-ish run. My last scheduled race of this pregnancy is the 27 so a little less than 2 weeks of the hardish training left.
Great work on eating well for those of you who are staying on track! If you find yourself slipping, don't fret and just jump back into it. We can't undo what we've done, but we can always move forward and make those changes! Keep it up, ladies!
Last week was an interesting one for me. Last Monday was super hot and humid in our area, and I made the mistake of running too late in the day. I stopped 1.3 miles into the run and headed to the gym to finish in the "AC" (which wasn't much cooler, but there wasn't a hot sun beating down on me). I finished with over 5 miles under my belt and went through two big water bottle refills. Alas, my efforts were for naught. The BH I typically experience for 15-20 minutes following a run became intense and lasted for almost 3 hours. I called my OB and they said to time them for another hour, and if they continued to intensify, to go in for monitoring. They didn't get worse, so I waited until my appointment in the AM (already scheduled 32 week appt.). We talked about scaling back on my runs and going for more walks and shorter jogs, so I had to make the change for my Friday run and into this week.
I managed that one 5+ mile run on Monday, legs on Tuesday (resistance training), back/bi on Wedesnday, chest/core on Thursday, 4 mile run on Friday (slower and earlier in the day), shoulders/triceps on Saturday, and 35 minutes easy on the elliptical on Sunday. I thought my belly at 33 weeks would be more of a bother than it really is. I've found that most of my difficulty with running has to do with my fatigue, overheating, and hydration!
I wish you all the best of luck staying on track this week! I'll be keeping a close eye on how my body reacts to workouts this week so I can keep this baby cookin'!
That's awesome!

Hello!
I'm new here! I was in really good shape until 2011 (even did fitness competitions), but gained a lot between infertility and pregnancy. I had a high risk pregnancy with severe pre-e and LO developing IUGR that landed me on bedrest and eating a very high calorie diet. Then I had a c-section
My goal is to lose 90 lbs total. I'm down 38 since having LO, but that isn't that impressive considering it was 10 months ago. So I have about 52 more to go. I feel like I'm probably 95% recovered from my C-section now (the pain from this really caused problems with high impact exercise for awhile) so I'm getting serious about it now. I'm using the my fit pal app to track all of my food and on the program to attempt to lose 2 lbs a week. I've also started seeing a personal trainer again. From having lost weight before, I know 2 lbs a week is a pretty high goal, but I would like to at least be able to hit about 1 pound to 1.5 lbs a week. I'm also setting a goal for myself to try to do 100 workouts over the next 100 days. However, I'm counting anything that gets my heart rate up for over 20 minutes as a workout...I figure this will give me incentive to try to do some sort of activity everyday.

wow congrats! If you are only 11 lbs up, you will have no problem reaching your goal. So impressed that you were running the day before you delivered
Congrats! Good luck!

Welcome and good job so far! I am a firm believer in tracking those macronutrients and I have had great success doing it myself with an app. I am pregnant now, so I'm not in the same boat as you are, but I will be soon and I hope to get back into the swing of things as soon as possible. Good luck and be well!

My week started out well. Hit the gym Sunday through Tuesday. Then went into labor and after laboring all night and day had to have a cs because baby girl was stuck. Now I'm recovering so I can't make it to the gym but I'm starting to go for walks outside when it's not too hot. I may try to start out very easy at the gym next week and just walk on the treadmill.
I'm sorry you had complications but congrats on your new baby girl!

Wow! You're going for walks already? I'm a FTM so I don't know what to expect, but I keep hearing that a c/s recovery is longer and more painful than a VB, and I'm increasingly nervous that either way, I won't be able to walk around or exercise to any degree for weeks! How are you feeling?! Congratulations!!!!
Intro: February 2013 Momma. DS is 5 months. He's our only child. DH and I prioritize health living so we're mostly organic eaters, no cokes, minimal sweets and zero fast food. I'm an active person and have been for 10 plus yrs. I enjoy all types of exercise. I'm a junkie. Prepregnancy, I worked out 3 to 4 days a week. During pregnancy I kept that. Now, I'm shooting for 3 per week. I'm a c section Momma so recovery is way different from Vag. Obviously. I'm taking it easy and listening to my body. I'm also EBF, so I'm not focusing on weight loss. At 6 wk pp apt, I was 3 lbs away from prepregnancy weight. I don't own a scale so I have no idea what my weight is. I definitely look different for sure, but my priority is feeding my son and keeping supply up. I'll push it hard core once we're finished with BF.
My goals are 3 days a week of exercise.
Excited to join! I like the accountability. ::mobile smiley::
Be careful. Don't do too much too soon. Your body went through MAJOR surgery and needs to heal. I started walking like 10 min tops at 3 weeks a couple times a week, pretty slow, to get some fresh air and that was still really tough. I'm not trying to discourage you, just Listen to your body and take it easy. It may take some time, and that's normal after cs.
