How are your pets handling our little movers?

Now that our kids are starting to be mobile how are your pets handling it?

We have two dogs.  Our lab is completely laid back with her.  He will just lay there when she crawls over and starts climbing him.  She will pull on his fur and grab at his mouth and eyes and he doesn't even react.  Our little dog is very nervous of her.  If Alexis gets too close she will take off and hide under the bed.

We don't have pets, but in laws have a dog. When LO was chasing him yesterday he would just get up and move away. He's a rescue and was extremely timid when they got him, so I was a bit concerned. LO doesn't see him often.

  • My litte dog loves to "give kisses" to DS but is not crazy about him touching her. She will get up and move if DS tries to grab her. She basically likes interacting with DS on her terms, not his.

My smaller dog is a rescue dog as well so I figure that is why she runs away, but she tolerates our friend's 2.5 year old fine.

  • Ashley constantly chases Roxy and just won't leave her alone. We don't let Ashley bug her a lot. We go with the term: tolerance is not enjoyment, meaning just because my dog is tolerating the baby try to pull her ears and eyes out doesn't mean she is enjoying it. Usually Roxy will run away or into her box.
  • my cats want nothing to do with her.
  • We have a small 8 lb pooch, she licks R and generally seems fine around her, but if R is flailing her arms or throwing stuff, the dog's ears go back and she runs away.
