Timed potty breaks?

Hello Ladies, 

DS will use the potty successfully every time during transitional times, such as when we are changing clothes, etc.  However, I can't seem to get him even near the potty when he's engaged in play or his own activity.  He seems like he has control, but has little interest to be interrupted.

Any advice?

    When my dd is playing or too busy she will forget so I always have her go at least every 2hrs. I tell her its time for a "potty break" and we make a fun ordeal out of it and she loves it.
