Toys

I feel like LO is getting bored of her toys. We bought her a Vtech walker that lights up and sings and she loves that but lately I feel like she's over it. She has lots of other toys that light up and sing and the stacking types of toys too. I don't think it's the type of toy that's the problem but just that she's ready for something new.

So, looking for some suggestions. What toys do your LOs love right now? TIA!

We have the activity cube from imaginarium, but I think the one from target is better.  To be honest, i think it looks really cute, but he doesnt pay it any mind yet.

His favs are crinkly books, shape sorter, and his disney train.

    Thanks! I'll check those out!

  • K loves books. She really likes her Mega Blocks piano and Vtech Drums. Her stuffed animals are always a win, as well.

Thank you! O has started to pay more attention to her stuffed animals lately. I need to pull more of them out of storage (we had a surplus given to her as a newborn).

  • F has been really into balls.  He has one that's like soft stuffed and has a bell in the middle, he loves that thing.  Throws it around in his play area all the time.

Also, much to my dismay, he still loves this freaking thing:

  • Have you checked the local goodwill/salvation army? We got some really cool toys there for so cheap. Like 2-3 dollars each. We found a munchin music cube there that D likes. Most of the songs are recognizable so you can sing along with them.

We also picked up a bunch of sand toys from the dollar tree that D likes to throw. Some are animal shaped and some are like castle pieces about the size of my hand so easy for him to maneuver.

Anything safe from the kitchen and empty cardboard boxes also seem to be pretty exciting to him right now.

I always forget about Goodwill and there is a huuuuge one 2 miles from my house. Thanks for reminding me of that. I feel like we have spent a lot of money on toys and she is over them quickly.

  • Toys!?!  Toys!?!?  We don't need no steenking toys...

In reality, LO goes for his stuffed animals when in his room. The bottom shelf of his change table is stuffed toys.  (those are the only toys in his room as it is his 'sleep room')

On the main floor, he has a shape sorter turtle (he doesn't sort them, just studies them), and otherwise is so busy crawling and exploring everything. He loves water bottles (full or empty), empty boxes, the cold air return vent (it makes cool noises when he strums it) and the strip that goes on the floor when two rooms are different heights (don't remember what it's called, but it makes some pretty funky noises too). The hall closet mirror is a favorite (he likes to chat to the other baby).

  • Ditto what PP's said about stacking rings and cups, kitchen things and cardboard boxes.  I got him some wooden blocks, and he also loves those.

lol, I have the ride on version of this dog. It's kind of annoying and will change with him as he learns to walk then ride it, so I will learn to love it! I must!
