I know we have these posts quite frequently, but these are the ones I don't ever read enough of!
DS is a big pasta eater but I feel like I'm in a rut of same ole same ole. I'm also guilty of buying too many pre packaged pasta style sides or meals and I want to make my own. So give me your best lunch ideas or home made pasta meals that your kids love!
Re: Another lunch post..
I would say, go buy some pasta, add some chicken breast and some salad dressing like ranch or some sour cream and mayo. Also you can add seasoning.
I would make my own, but we live in a small apartment and I am not using the stove this summer so we eat sandwiches, cold salads (pasta, veggie and fruit), chips, veggies, fruit, cheeses, dip, etc. anything you can eat cold.

Those are what I make but admidt I keep a few store bought items around for busy, hectic days.
Honestly, pasta is one of those ridiculously easy to make meals at home. Because it's really just boiling water and dumping a box into it.
While it cooks you can do any number of sauces -
*In the summer, I like to just dice some tomato and garlic and toss with olive oil.
*If you want a meat sauce, just brown whatever meat you want with onions and garlic while the pasta is cooking and then add canned crushed tomatoes and some spices and heat up.
* Melt some butter in a pan then stir in flour. Add some milk and cook until thickened and you have a white sauce.
You can add whatever veggies you like to any of these versions. Zucchini, broccoli, carrots, peppers, spinach - all work well with pasta.
We do homemade stovetop mac and cheese with different cheeses and mix-ins as described in the above post. My son loves this pea and mint pesto I made it recently. We had pasta with roasted beets, cottage cheese and herbs the other night that he actually clapped for. I make a homemade red sauce with crushed tomatoes, garlic, onion, herbs and butter. Mix some tuna, lemon, olive oil, peas, tomatoes in for a cold pasta salad. You can pretty much leave it to your imagination.
