Our little girl is just over 4 months. She can smile, coo, sit for the most part (only for a minute or so before she starts to topple), she can stand with assistance and jump on her own, but she doesn't laugh.
No giggles, no squeals, no laughing. She hasn't laughed with DH either. We assume she's a happy baby because she is constantly smiling and she talks up a babbling storm, she just doesn't laugh. We thought it would just develop like the smiling and talking, but my MIL seems to think there is a problem.
I didn't give it much thought to start, but now I am secretly worried that she's not developing properly. Thoughts?

My what to expect the first year book said that 90+% of babies can laugh by 4 months. Naturally, this had me concerned when 4 months was approaching and still no real laughs. However, I took comfort in these things: 1. He was meeting other milestones, 2. He was social in other ways- we have heard from multiple people that he is the smiliest baby they have ever seen, 3. laughing isn't that big of a milestone (what I mean by this, is based on what I've seen, being late on this milestone isn't cause for concern), 4. Do you know any adults that can't laugh? It will come eventually.
For us, the first inclinations of laughing came around 3.5 months, and the full-on belly laughs didn't come until a week or so after 4 months.
It sounds like your LO is social and is meeting other milestones quickly. Try not to worry. It will come
LO is 4 months and just started laughing a week ago and boy does it take a lot to get a laugh out of him. I mean I really turn up the silliness to almost embarrassing levels. And even then I can do the exact same thing 10 minutes later and all I get is a smile and sometimes just a stare.
I think your smiling baby is definitely nothing to worry about. Now that you mentioned it though, I'll bet she starts laughing like next week. LOL :-)
DS2 (4 1/2 months) just started really laughing recently. He really thinks clapping is funny, he likes getting tickled under his arms, and for some reason taking his onesie off over his head is the funniest thing ever.
Keep in mind, everyone is different. As an adult it really takes a lot to make me laugh out loud even though I find a lot of stuff amusing. Some people, and babies, just don't laugh all that much. I wouldn't worry about it.
