When your LO won't nap, how do you feel? It's almost 3pm, DD has slept for 20 minutes today and she's cranky. I freaking hate days when she won't nap... I get frustrated and can't describe it. And OF COURSE all I wanted was for her to take a decent nap today so we could go to the pool... When will I learn to stop making plans based on IF LO takes a good nap?
Re: When they won't nap
How close is the pool to you? Swimming always knocks my DD out so it might be worth a shot.
I feel frustrated and exhausted when DD won't nap. She's a go-go girl and climbs on everything.
Would she do quiet time? Sometimes when DD won't nap, I put her in her bed with a few quiet toys. Usually it tricks her into sleeping but if not, at least I get a little break.
This was us Saturday. Caroline got a 30 min nap in the morning (she never has morning naps anymore) and that killed her afternoon nap. It was my fault kind of because we had to go to my mom's house and I didn't look up freeway closures for the construction on the 8 mile stretch of highway between our house and my mom's. It took us 45 min to get to her house and it normally only take 15-20 so Caroline fell asleep in the car. The rest of the day was hell. I was so tired myself by the time her bedtime came that all I wanted to do was go to bed at 8pm.
If we had had plans that night it would have depended on what they were but I more than likely would have cancelled. She is just no fun when she doesn't nap. If we had something with the family I probably would have still gone since she gets with her cousins and is wound up and they could have worn her out
