Hi all! I'm in my 2nd trimester and trying to decide on the hospital for my delivery. My OB delivers at Baptist, Centennial, and Vanderbilt. I plan to take some tours, but would love some feedback from first hand experience.
I had my first baby at Vanderbilt and plan to do the same for this one. I really liked it. My L&D nurse was amazing and all of the nursery nurses were really nice and helpful. My only complaint was that it was very busy. I arrived at the hospital 8 cm dilated and had to wait about 30 minutes for a room. I did have my baby in one of their busiest months, so I don't think its always that full.
I don't know anyone who has delivered at Centennial. What I have heard about Baptist is that they are very efficient and good at what they do, but because they do so many births people sometimes feel treated like a number.
Thanks for the information. I was a little nervous about Baptist because I've heard it referred to as "the baby factory". I'll check out Vanderbilt a bit more!

Baptist is good the do have a lot of births. The nurses are very kind there and help with questions well for first time moms. I haven't personally given birth there yet, I was born there and about 6 of my friends have had their children there most have been very pleased. Check around and touring multiple places is best to find your fit and where you feel most comfortable. GL
I'm delivering at Centennial. My husband works there. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the experience is like because I'm a FTM and haven't toured yet. I love my doctor and my husband enjoys working there so I feel pretty good about it. My cousin delivered both her children at Vanderbilt and was very happy with it both times. I don't know anything about Baptist (I'm new to the area).
I had my son at Baptist, and I plan to use them for the next baby. I had a fantastic experience with all of the nurses, doctors, and staff. I can't really say enough good things about it. I had a C-section, so I was there for a longer period of time, too.
I did delivered baby 1 at baptist and had a fantastic experience!! This baby may be going to centennial but not because of anything that happen at baptist. I had to have cs at baptist and they no longer carry a medical device that was used during recovery and centennial will.
Had my first at Centennial and everything went great. I had a natural childbirth and the nurses were supportive. The maternity rooms are really spacious. This time around I wanted to look more into Baptist/St. Thomas Midtown but am staying with Centennial because, in case I need a c-section, my OB will also tie my tubes which they don't allow at Baptist/St. Thomas as it is a religiously affiliated hospital that doesn't allow sterilization surgery.
