Car Seat!

I had a on preemie on May 1st. She was 24 weeks. I suffered low amniotic fluid. She is still in NICU and doing great. She was 1lb and 6oz. at birth, now she 3lbs and 9oz. She should be home later this month or early August. What's the best/safest car seats for preemies? Right now I've chose the Chicco Keyfit 30.

We have the same car seat and have been happy with it. I think it says the minimum weight is 4lbs and our daughter was 4lbs 10 oz when we brought her home. It was tight enough and her head didn't jiggle around or anything. Your NICU will most likely do a car seat challenge when your daughter is almost ready to go home to make sure she is able to breathe well at the angle of the seat. You should be fine with that seat if she's going home in a few weeks because she should be over 4lbs by then. Hope that helps!

We also had the Chicco Keyfit (regular, not 30). She was over 5 lbs at discharge. We loved that seat!

We have that one and it's great. Safety 1st was also recommended to us by our hospital and is a little cheaper.

We used the Chicco Keyfit 30 for both my girls. They both came home around 5lbs.

My 24 weeker was 1 lb 8 at birth, just over 1 lb at his lowest, but 8 lbs at d/c. We have a Graco and it was fine. You'll be surprised at how big they get!
