Plus sized, pregnant, need fancy dresses...

Hoping someone can help... I'm plus sized to start and now pregnant (18 weeks) and have 2 weddings to go to. The weddings are a week apart and some guests may be the same so I want two different dresses.

Anyway, first wedding is August 24th and 2nd is September 1st, so ill be 24 and 25 weeks. One is black tie requested and the other didn't request black tie but the establishment where it's being held is very fancy formal.

can anyone suggest where I can find these dresses and how I should pick them since I'm still growing? I don't want to leave it off until the last second because its hard enough finding fancy dresses as it is.

  • Motherhood maternity has plus size dresses. You just buy your pre pregnancy size.

  • I think if you find something a couple sizes up from your normal size you should be fine. You can always have it tailored if there are areas that are too big.
  • I wouldn't be worried about wearing the same dress. People will not remember and plus they are not looking at you anyway, they are looking at the bride. I would go with classic black and you can make two different outfits with accessories like a scarf or belt. Check out motherhood or Nordstrom and just go a size up!

I'd check out Motherhood Maternity, or Lane Bryant and Torrid and just buy up sizes. Anything larger with an empire waist will look cute because it will hug to make your bump look nicer. Other than that, I'd wear one dress. A simple black cute one and just accessorize like PP here said. No one's going to notice and if they do? Heck, they're focusing on the wrong person so you're not the one with the problem, lol.

  • I'm between a 14/16. I needed a fancy dress for an event and believe it or not I found a great dress at Sears. It was a xxl. Plenty of room in the belly to grow. And it was 60% off.

  • I'm in the same predicament.  I'll be a bridesmaid at 38 weeks and need a long, black dress.  The regular go-to maternity places have nothing appropriate.  I found a few options on Amazon, and I'll probably buy from there and hope for the best.  I even looked at David's Bridal and a few local boutiques.  The dresses they advertise as maternity are not.  They suggest the empire waist styles, which still come with a fitted lining that is not forgiving.  Good luck!  If you find anything, I'd love to know where!
