Too many doctors to choose from..

I recently found out that I am pregnant : I am roughly 5 weeks along. But I'm not sure how to "pick out" an obgyn in my network there are so many it is quite overwhelming!

If anyone has advice on how y'all picked out your doctor it would help wonders!!

Xoxo

  • My gyn who I absolutely LOVE is also an ob. I got lucky! She delivered both of my nephews and niece. She is amazing.

  • I just asked around.
  • So far this pregnancy I've been seeing my RE. But we are moving from Alabama to Utah next week for DH's job so I needed to find a new OB across the country.

I went with a recommendation from DH's boss. I hope I like him! The clinic looks incredible...

  • Depends on what is the most important to you? I would ask them their c-section rate, induction rate, how they would describe their own practice style, how much "time" they give laboring moms, how important prenatal nutrition is, etc. If they are withholding of information or don't directly answer your questions I would be wary of them. Depending on your state they may or may not be required to keep these statistics but they should for good practice.
  • Those are perfect questions to ask that I never thought of! Thank you!
