Sleep Interrupted: poop :

Anyone else have a big pooper on their hands? I know this is such an exciting post ;. I'm just frustrated because he's a really good kid sleeper both at night and in naps, but he's constantly getting woken up early bc of a poop.

He'd sleep 12 hours, I'm sure, but gets 10 1/2 to 11 bc of the poop waking him. I can hear him pushing and whining about being woken. He's just shifted to one nap in the last few weeks almost 19mths old and has a hard time getting a two hour nap bc of poop. He's more likely to sleep 1hr 15. It just doesn't seem like enough sleep for him.

Will he outgrow this? Anyone else see there LO's bowl patterns shift when they shifted from two to one naps? Is there hope?!?

  • DD1 did this. It was a phase.
"What are you having?" "Well the radiologist says its a healthy little human baby. I'm a little disappointed, because I really wanted a puppy." LOL

  • This started with my DD about two or three weeks ago too!  During the day, I would hear her grunt but if she saw me, she would stop pushing.  She only poops during the day if she can hide and do it.  If there are too many people around, it seems as if she tries NOT to go.  Since she started doing that, all of a sudden nap time and bedtime keep getting interrupted because she wakes up with a dirty diaper.  I totally hear you there! Is your LO trying not to go during the day? My pedi suggested that my LO was aware of the fact that she has to go and is trying not to go during the day in front of people.  He suggested that I introduce the potty for when I hear a little grunt and see if she is interested. He told me she was young for the potty but it couldn't hurt to introduce it to her.  Good luck with your LO!
