Don't go to Mount Baldy when you're in Indiana! And listen signs in front of blocked off areas. A six year old was buried for three hours yesterday because he fell into a sink hole in a blocked off area. It looks like he will live, though I don't know how. I have been obsessing over this story since last night.

    That is some scary stuff. I was. Lifeguard for the Indiana Dunes National Lake Shore throughout college and witnessed alot of sad things but that was never something I would imagine happening.

    I had heard that you could no longer climb Mt. Baldy from the South due to erosion concerns but didn't realize it had gotten that bad!

    P.S. BBJ maybe steer clear of the city of Valparaiso too as there are reports of at least one confirmed RubellaGerman Measles case. Apparently not a good week to be in NWI

    Where did you grow up? I was in Porter and went to Chesterton High School.

    Oh, and did you hear, the boy is expected to make a full recovery. They had been in a restricted area so hopefully the "allowed" areas are still safe.

    I grew up in Portage and went to Portage Schools. My parents moved to Chesterton when I was in college and live there now.

    My parents live in Chesterton now too. We're having Howell's birthday at the State Park.

    My in-laws were telling me about this. I can't believe that little boy was pulled out alive! I'm not big into miracles but that certainly seems like one. That would be so terrifying to see, just looking down at your child down a big hole as sand buries him alive. Be careful and have fun BBJ!
