Sorry to post so much ![]()
Had another ultrasound today. Only one follicle was close to being ready at 17.5mm and the other two of the larger ones were only 13 and 14. While RE didn't say it, it seemed like she wasn't as excited about this appointment as she was the previous one. She reassured me that every woman is different... a follicle under 18 could still have a mature egg. We wouldn't know for sure because I'm doing an IUI and not IVF.
I can't help but feel a little defeated. I don't want all the meds (and, sorry to say it, money) to be for nothing if it's not even increasing our chances.
One more night of follistim (but upping my amount), the tomorrow night I trigger and the IUI is set for Monday morning.
Trying to stay positive by reminding myself that it only takes one and that my lining is at 10.
A lot to still be thankful for!
Thanks for reading!
Re: Disappointed :(
but you don't have that to contend with I bet you get an egg or two and if your hubby has some strong soldiers it'll be good odds.
hang in there!

Thank you!
Hubs has "super swimmers" which is awesome, but also makes me feel badly that all the issues are with me.
What should the numbers be post wash? I have no idea! 3 million sounds like a lot to me!

I was actually looking at my husband's SA results last night. They are old from 2008... But his count is 52 million but only 16 million are "active sperm" and the rest have low motility.
I'm sure it sucks to think the problem is you but it's not is it? You're "unexplained" right ?
For what's its worth, I think with your awesome lining and the super sperm...but I'm not a doctor lol.
And with IUI you bypass the "journey" the swimmers have to make and you don't have to lay upside down and stuff afterwards.
Only thing that pissed me off was my dr told me to resume normal activity immediately after and I totally felt like the experience warranted a nap at least! Lol.

Oh my gosh! I was like 2050, whoa! Your reaction to 3 million swimmers sounds like something I would say. Haha!
Well, I am assuming there's something wrong with me if it's not him and since the first time I was tested I had a higher FSH of 11.8 or something like that. I also had fewer follicles than someone my age. I only had 11 and I guess it should be over 20. The last time I was tested I had normal hormone levels and a better follicle count. I swear my body is out of whack from a horribly stressful year last year. It's slowly getting back to normal.
Anyways, thank you for your reassurance! You made me feel better and laugh! I TOTALLY agree with you...my RE said I can resume normal activities and I want to tell her to tell DH that I need to take it easy these next few weeks. I've been totally trying to milk it here...I mean, hello, I'm growing eggs! Can DH please do the dishes? (Kidding, kind of...but DH does a lot...)

I'm sorry you didn't respond as well as you had hoped, but you are right about only needing one. Probably 99% of pregnancies (just guessing there) are achieved with only one follie! And your lining is great! I don't think I've had one that thick.
I hope you are successful!

August 16, 2013: BFP our first month of "not trying!" Still in shock. Beta #1 (14dpo): 183. Beta #2 (17dpo): 611. Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm!
Ultrasound 9/13/13: 8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
Baby is due 4/26/14
Thanks!
I'm feeling pretty frustrated. Last night after BD, I started bleeding (day 10) and panicked of course. It wasn't dark red, just peachy pink and it was only when I wiped. I emailed my RE and she told me it could be a sign of a uterine polyp which really upsets me. I hope we won't have to cancel this cycle.
I am hoping that maybe it was a combination of having an ultrasound and maybe other factors that contributed to the bleeding. Though a polyp would make sense as to why we haven't had any bfps. I just wonder why that was never checked before (or maybe it was and nothing was there). UGH!!

I hate random bleeding! I get it every single month, bar none. And I hate it. But you're right about the u/s possibly causing it. Ultrasounds sometimes cause me to bleed too (as does intercourse).
I hope it's not a polyp or anything like that which could be affecting things. Hopefully it is just random and will go away!
