October 2013 Moms

My mother's parenting advice just failed her.

DS has recently been wanting to play monsters and he will walk up and pretend to bite you saying "I eat you". It's cute until he decides to actually bite. Well my mother told me to bite him back, I haven't tried it because I don't think it's logical to teach a kid to not bite by biting them. Well DS went to stay with Granny this weekend and bit her so she decides to use the bite back method, didn't phase him. He just looked at her and bit her harder. LOL!!! She called me and I had to mute the phone I was laughing so hard.

My son had a biting problem too.  I was against the "bite them back" theory as well.  I got him to stop by taping him on the mouth while saying "No!" and then putting him down.  Good luck!

  • my mom says that to, but I think i'd be a little mad if my mom bit my kid.

  • It seems like a hilarious idea and that sucks it didn't work for your DS but when I was little, my moms friends daughter bit me, so my moms friend bit her back and the girl never messed with me again.

I would use that tactic I ever needed to with my kids. Not a big deal to me, but I would hope it would work! Lol
