NBFR: Game Apps

I am overwhelmed by all the choices.  Anyone have any suggestions for good games on my ipad for a 3 1/2 year old?  I really don't want to buy anything and find out it's just plain stupid. There is an abundance of dumb games out there.

TIA

Re: NBFR: Game Apps

  • We like all of the apps by Duck Duck Moose, but they are a couple bucks a pop. There's a cute one called I Hear Ewe that is free, but it gets old pretty quickly. Dr. Seuss Band is a musical one that's ok. Hm....I'm trying to think what else we have. My son really loves Angry Birds and Cut the Rope, which are totally not kid apps, but they're non-violent and somewhat physics-based, so I don't hate them. He's almost 4.
  • Loading the player...
  • Agnitus is really good. It's educational and free. They will also email you progress reports. My 3 yr old son and 5 yr old nephew both play it.
  • We just downloaded this app and Monkey LOVES it.

And my preschool teacher mother loved it too.

She is learning her letters, their sounds, spelling and word definitions.  She used ruckus appropriately last night.

I also love Bugs & Buttons and Bugs and Butterflies. Beautiful art, and they learn basic math, science and letters.

  • DD is 3 1/2.

There's a Tinkerbell finding game she really loves. She also loves princess/fairy books that have the same look & find theme.

She loves puzzle games. Anything <12 pieces or so, she can complete easily.

There are tons of free Disney apps (Doc McStuffins, for example) your dd might like if she watches the shows ever.

  • Excellent!  Thank you!

Yesterday on the way to her weekend with XH, she counted the cars. I had no idea she could count to 13.  I feel the need to keep encouraging this.

  • DS likes Angry Birds, Monkey Preschool Lunchbox (has matching games, puzzles, counting) and the Monkey Math (same maker as the Lunchbox).
